Slingshots would not have existed today if rubber would not have been discovered. Slingshots were invented many years ago and companies tried to improve their qualities and their look, but the main feature of slingshots is the same. They are used for having fun and for testing our aiming abilities or they are used as protection weapons. Usually, slingshots are used for hitting unexpected animals that attack our gardens or those birds that attack our vineyard. Kids sometimes use slingshots, but they have to know that using slingshots is dangerous as they can hurt someone.
Slingshots are not regulated by law, but if someone uses a big stone, it can really hit someone very severe, so they have to be very responsible when they use them. Although slingshots are not so dangerous, using them without being responsible, can turn into something dangerous. On the other hand, slingshots are used by almost all kids and teenagers, so they will always remind us of our childhood and the adventures we had then. It may sound strange, but slingshots can make us nostalgic. When we were kids, we made slingshots from whatever things we had, but even so, they worked well and we were having a lot of fun. Nowadays, those which are manufactured in companies have a modern look, but they are not similar to those we used when we were kids, so there is nothing related to our past.
Kids that use this type of slingshots, are not learning anymore how to manufacture them by themselves, so there is not so much fun as we used to have in our childhood. It is great when kids play, but their parents need to explain them how to use these objects and to be responsible, without hurting anyone. So, kids have to learn what responsibility is and also respecting each other. Violence is not at all the solution and this is an important age when kids need to understand these things. They are not expensive, so you can buy many at once, but be careful how you use and for what purpose!
